JAMAICA HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN'S TRACK TEAM
KEEPS BREAKING RECORDS
2009 News: The Girl's Outdoor Track Team has been having a productive season so far despite a few injuries that have prevented a great season.
The 4 X 100 Meter relay of Whitney Ford, Latasha Green,Zaharah Gray and Jenay Jackson are ranked #7 in New York State. The 4 X 400 Meter Relay of Whitney Ford, Latasha Green, Tavia Brown and Shanna Diggs White are ranked #11 in New York State.
The team took 3rd place at the New York Mayor's Cup Invitation and placed 2nd in their section at the Penn relays in Philadelphia in the 4 X 100 Meter Relay on April 23rd.
The team is getting ready for the Queen's Championship on May 15th at Bayside High School. In addition to the above athletes the team should get scoring in the field events from Naomi Jordan, Francis Menelas, Ashley Chichester, Fabiola Cameau, Roberta Clarke and Sequoyah Douglas. In the running events, Trieshann Bradford and Candance Johns will get vital scoring.
Newcomers Shanna Howe, Bibi Mackenzie, Sushana Taylor, Latoya Gayle, Chenell Rose, Jasmine Nance, and Adel Nelson will help keep the team in contention for winning the Queens Championship. The team is the defending Queens' Champions for the past three years.
